Frictions – La bascule des vivants

FRICTIONS is an artistic and civic project imagined by Antoine Perez, the imagespassages and Point Commun teams, in partnership with l’Écrevis.

FRICTIONS are two exhibitions and meetings during the spring and summer of 2024.

FRICTIONS are also times of sharing and discovery which propose to examine how artists and citizens of the world, mobilize, collaborate to create, question or bear witness to the impact of human activity on living things and on our companies.

This approach, which is both artistic (drawings, paintings, videos, photographs, etc.), documentary and activist (banners, posters, leaflets, etc.), shows relationships with the world and questions social and environmental injustices. The authors work individually or collectively, but always in dialogue with the world. With precision, they weave stories and relationships. Their practice engages an ecology of doing and thinking that sets things in motion, tells stories, takes us a little further.

FRICTIONS names doubt, questioning when faced with assertions that seem too strong. It sharpens our gaze, pushes us to listen to multiple voices too quickly covered by more powerful ones.

As if to better put bodies in motion, the project is deployed in three places, three distinct entities which collaborate in its realization and each carry a part of this story. Le Point Commun, a contemporary art space dedicated to the emerging scene, imagespassages specializing in moving images and digital art which invests in this context the Forum Exposition of Bonlieu, and finally Ecrevis, a multi-site third-place -activities, which notably bring together environmental and social activist associations and networks.
