Born in Buenos Aires in 1964, Rodrigo García has lived and worked in Madrid since 1986. An author, set designer, and director, in 1989 he created the La Carnicería Teatro company to experiment with staging and find a personal language far from traditional theater. He has worked with many institutions and festivals including the Centro Dramático Nacional, Festival d’Avignon, Biennale di Venezia, and Bonlieu Scène nationale Annecy. In 2009 he was awarded the Europe Theater Prize for New Theatrical Realities, and between 2014 and 2017 he directed the Centre dramatique national de Montpellier.
