Didzis Jaunzems’ installation is a pavilion made of hundreds of pieces of wood assembled to create 9 remarkable, 6-meter-high elements. Together, these elements form a circle where visitors can come sit. An invitation to contemplate and meditate.
Born in 1987, Latvian architect and set designer Didzis Jaunzems lives and works in Riga (Latvia). He has studied and gained practical experience in architecture and urban planning in Europe and has attended workshops and participated in competitions in India and Asia. In 2012 he founds the DJA architectural studio, where he works on landscape design projects, artistic installations and designs opera sets. He received the Latvian Architecture Award in 2013, 2015, and 2017, and the Latvian Landscape Award in 2019.
